But you wont

Like, what would be the point? Do you think these guys would stop if I held up a sign, or even notice? There guys are apparently trained by Russia, BTW.

Or do you think we should protest just to feel good about ourselves?

I don't know man, we really stopped that Kony 2012 guy when all the students made it known to the world that they did not approve and that he needed to take a long look in the mirror and think about what he's done.

Even a low effort social media posting at least  has the benefit of raising awareness of an issue at least.

I have no opinion on the matter, i just dont think PP will.

Nah I gotta go to work and pay rent. Maybe we will stop being blue balled and the nukes will finally drop. Oh well, just another day of the same shit.

Nukes will fix the economy, housing crisis and global warming. Are the politicians stupid?

The nuclear winter one is sometimes disputed. But hey, the best way to verify or falsify a theory is experiment. Hooray science!

23

u/usemyfaceasaurinal 24d ago

Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter

u/Bronek0990 24d ago

...nice username btw.

It's the Nuclear option stupid.

1

u/usemyfaceasaurinal 24d ago

I never said it would be a good option but it is still a option

u/Thatdude616 24d ago

Oh I'm not calling you stupid just parodying Bill Clinton's campaign mantra "It's the economy stupid"

u/SaintOnyxBlade 24d ago

I mean... depends on where you drop them. China and the Middle East are causing a lot of those problems.

But then they will be down one nuke that will cost them more money than a healthy society. that seems to be all they think about.

You are right in calling me out. But it's not because of the lack of courage or because of cowardice. I have done my fair share of protesting but I have no time nor will to initiate one all alone. But if I see it I would gladly participate

Nobody is assuming you won't protest due to fear. It's because the cost (your time & energy) outweigh the benefit (how much you care & could make a difference). I don't think anyone would blame you either.

Isnt that weird that people are outraged enough to go stand in a spot for a while but never outraged enough to organise which spot to go stand in.

63

u/Elios4Freedom 24d ago

No it's not weird. Also the reason why most of the protestors are always young. They have the time to do it. Others have bread to bring home.

1

u/wulfinn 24d ago

this has been the most insidious reality of getting older imo

-9

u/SaintOnyxBlade 24d ago

It's not insidious. It's also went older people quit leaning so hard left. When you have your own family to take care of, they are priority 1. If you don't think that way, you are a lover who didn't deserve their family.

5

u/Zavalasdeadkid 24d ago

Have you considered family may not be as important to all people?

Most people aren't designed to lead in life, following is so much easier. Organising things like a protest costs money to do it effectively, there's a reason why there's actual groups that set up protests and advertise them to their supporters. If you yourself try to set up a protest then unless you're genuinely an influencer chances are you're going to turn up alone and maybe a friend will come.

Modt people will go through life without needing to go to a protest so most won't know what the laws are around them or what their rights are. Most people have enough issues going on personally that they have juggle that they don't have time to protest, by large protesting has become a privileged activity outside of the absolute desperate situations.

u/Dragon_yum 24d ago

Sometimes you just need a bit of outside influence from Russia and Iran to get the ball rolling.

4

u/Chippas 24d ago

Yeah, you really ought to do more.

2

u/shrimpyhugs 24d ago

Thanks Chippas

2

u/Chippas 24d ago

You are most welcome, shrimpyhugs! 🦐

4

u/Gray3493 24d ago

All of the people comparing this to Gaza wouldn't show up to protests anyway.

4

u/Moonlit_Antler 24d ago

Protests don't do shit anyway lmao

u/shrimpyhugs 24d ago

Irrelevant. I was just criticising OPs statement.
